2013 Try Outs

Annual Rockers try outs are held in the fall at Appleton East High School. Girls who are interested in playing softball for the Rockers should participate in Try Outs at the appropriate time for their age group, which is based on age as of Jan. 1 of the year of play.

In order to participate in tryouts, you will need to register your chilld for tryouts using our online entry form. All registered particiapants will need to arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled try out, please see below for details.

2013 Try Outs

2013 try outs will be held Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Appleton East varsity field: 10 – 11:30 a.m. 10U and 12UTeam11:30 a.m. - Noon Optional pitching/catching for 10U and 12U1 – 2:30 p.m. 14U, 16U and 18U Teams2:30 - 3 p.m. Optional pitching/catching for 14U, 16U and 18U

In the case of inclement weather, tryouts will be moved into the new gym at Appleton East—enter Schaeffer St. parking lot.
   
Players unable to attend the Aug. 12 tryouts, may try out on the make-up date:
  August 26, 2012
  10 - 11:30 a.m.
 
Registration/warm ups begin a half-hour prior to each scheduled try out. Girls should bring a softball glove, helmet, bat and cleats/tennis shoes and wear workout clothing. Tennis shoes will be required if try outs are moved indoors due to the weather.
 
Teams are made up primarily of girls who live within the Appleton East school district. Players are selected based on their try out performance, and all final rosters are approved by the South Appleton Softball Association Board of Directors.

Players who are selected and their families must be willing to travel on weekends to play in tournaments. In addition, each family must volunteer at the Kick-Off Classic Tournament.

Cost to play is $200, including a Rockers helmet, or $175 without a helmet (or $175 and $150, respectively, for 10U players). This cost does not include travel expenses.
